Insurance & Participant Responsibilities
Every Op BASE CAMP experience is different. The insurance arrangements applicable to your booking will depend on the type of programme you have booked.
This page explains what insurance Op BASE CAMP provides, what remains the responsibility of the customer or organising body, and the responsibilities of participants before and during their experience.
-
Participant safety is at the heart of everything we do.
Op BASE CAMP Ltd maintains appropriate business insurance for the activities we deliver and works closely with customers throughout the planning process to ensure everyone understands the insurance arrangements applicable to their booking.
As every programme is bespoke, the insurance arrangements for your experience will always be confirmed within your quotation, booking confirmation or programme documentation.

Op BASE CAMP Ltd maintains appropriate business insurance for the activities we deliver.
This includes insurance appropriate to our operations, such as Public Liability, Employers' Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance.
Evidence of our insurance can be provided where appropriate upon request.
Please note that Op BASE CAMP's business insurance protects the business, our staff and the activities we deliver. It does not automatically provide personal travel, medical or cancellation insurance for participants unless this has been specifically included within your agreed booking.
-
Military Adventurous Training programmes operate differently from our other experiences.
Where stated within the agreed proposal, participant insurance forms part of the Op BASE CAMP package and will be arranged by Op BASE CAMP.
The exact scope of this cover will always be confirmed before booking.
Military units and participants remain responsible for ensuring they comply with all applicable Service policies, administrative procedures and medical requirements relating to their expedition.
-
Every Teams & Groups programme is individually developed.
Your quotation and booking documentation will clearly identify what insurance is included within your agreed package.
Unless specifically confirmed otherwise in writing, participants remain responsible for arranging appropriate insurance for:
Travel
Medical expenses
Cancellation
Personal belongings
We strongly recommend arranging insurance as soon as your booking has been confirmed.
-
Insurance arrangements for Charity & Adaptive experiences are agreed individually during the planning process.
Depending on the programme, some insurance may be arranged by Op BASE CAMP, while additional cover may remain the responsibility of the organising charity or organisation.
Your quotation and booking documentation will always confirm what is included.
-
