Our Story
Op BASE CAMP was built around a simple idea — to use our experience of Nordic skiing, the military and outdoor sport to create professionally delivered experiences that give people the opportunity to learn, develop and challenge themselves.
Our roots in the Armed Forces have shaped the way we work. We understand the importance of preparation, organisation, professionalism and delivering what has been promised.
But Op BASE CAMP is about more than getting people onto skis.
We believe that putting people into a new environment and giving them the opportunity to learn something different can build confidence, create stronger teams and provide experiences that stay with them long after they leave the snow.
Today, we work with military units, businesses, sports clubs, charities and organisations to create Nordic experiences built around the people taking part.
Our Instructors

The quality of any Nordic experience ultimately comes down to the people delivering it.
Op BASE CAMP works with a highly experienced team of Nordic instructors and coaches, including former professional Nordic athletes who have taken their experience from elite-level competition into coaching and instruction.
Our coaching team also brings extensive experience within Para Nordic and international biathlon, including coaches who have worked with athletes competing at IBU and World Cup level — the highest levels of international biathlon competition.
This combination of elite sporting experience and professional coaching gives our team an exceptional depth of knowledge. But just as importantly, they understand how to adapt that knowledge to the person in front of them.
From complete beginners putting on Nordic skis for the first time to experienced athletes looking to develop their performance, our coaches create the right environment for people to learn, progress and challenge themselves.
For adaptive participants, our Para Nordic experience brings an additional understanding of how instruction, equipment and coaching can be adapted around different abilities and individual requirements.
At Op BASE CAMP, it's not simply about having great skiers — it's about having experienced coaches who know how to help others become better skiers.
